I worked alongside the editor-in-chief to manage editorial workflow, build new and sustainable traffic sources, and propose initiatives to convert online readers into print subscribers. I commissioned, assigned, and edited features from freelancers and staff, with budget and deadline constraints in mind. I collaborated with the ads team to conceptualize and fulfill sponsored special sections. I wrote and edited many of our newsletters. At the start of the COVID crisis I pitched and launched our “Solving COVID” weekly newsletter to highlight scientific advancements made to curb the pandemic. I also wrote about fun stuff like awe and wonder, space printers, and falling in love with a new city.
